NetBet is another long-running sports betting site, having been established in 2001 and operating from Malta since 2006. The site joins many other traditional betting companies in offering esports bets through a section of their site, which covers most of the larger titles including Dota 2, League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Let’s take a closer look at how the company operates, and whether it makes a good choice for prospective esports bettors. Show more.
NetBet’s site has a traditional design, packing many different sports, leagues and betting options into a small space. That’s good for experienced bettors, but newcomers may find themselves a bit overwhelmed compared to less complicated, more modern offerings in the esports space.
To find the esports section of the site, check out the list of all sports on the left side, and scroll down to ‘e-sports’ (it has a green ‘e’ logo). From there, you’re asked to choose a region (which corresponds to the location of the league or tournament, rather than the teams participating). From here, you can select individual competitions; sadly it’s not possible to see all matches from a particular game.
Winner, spread and over/under betting are provided for most competitions. Sadly, proposition bets (first to frag, first Roshan, winner of the first pistol round) are not available thus far. You can at least choose the winner or finalist of a given tournament from all entrants, though.
Live betting is also supported, although as is common with more traditional betting sites, embedded live streams and statistics are not provided.
Withdrawals have a pending time of two to three days, making NetBet one of the slower sites on the ‘net when it comes to withdrawals. After this period, the time taken will depend on the method used. E-wallets take between 24 and 72 hours, credit and debit cards will take three to seven days, while bank transfers take a monstrous five to ten days.
NetBet is licensed by a trio of organisations: The Alderney Gambling Control Commission, the Malta Gaming Authority and the UK Gambling Commission. That means it’s quite legal to use the site in the UK, and should provide some recourse in the event of something untoward happening. This, in combination with the site’s long history, suggests a secure and comfortable betting experience.
NetBet goes above and beyond when it comes to support, with all of the most common options available during most of the day. There’s a live chat function on the site which should probably be your first port of call, which is open from 8:00 to 23:00 each day (GMT +1). There is also an email form you can fill out for out-of-hours service, and a telephone number you can call which is available between 12:00 and 20:00 each day (GMT+1). That number is 0044 203 608 6024. Show less.
NetBet offers a good range of promotions for its betting site and casino, including a strong deposit bonus for new customers. Let’s take a closer look at the terms and conditions associated with this offer to see if it makes sense for you.
