Call of Duty League Championships – Day 4 Preview
CDL Championships
As we head into Day 4 of the Call of Duty League Championships we see 4 matches today. Two from the losers bracket and two from the winners, so let’s dive into the analysis.
London Royal Ravens vs Paris Legion
After suffering a disconnect during their match against the Toronto Ultra which resulted in them losing the series 3-1. This is a tough series to go into for the London Royal Ravens. This will not be an easy game for them as the Paris Legion have looked good in recent weeks so they will need to bring their absolute all to take down their european rivals.
As for the Paris Legion they have looked very strong. They secured a second place finish at the London Home Series and recently defeated the Seattle Surge 3-0 in their first match at Playoffs. They have all the momentum needed, but can they go all the way?
Prediction
The London Royal Ravens are favourites for me in this match, but it will definitely be close. Therefore I’m sticking with a London Royal Ravens ML.
Pick: London Royal Ravens ML, 1.63 @ Midnite
OpTic Gaming Los Angeles vs Minnesota Rokkr
OpTic Gaming managed to hold on and take the series victory in game five following two disconnects for Kenny which left them a man down in two different matches. This showed incredible resilience and is something that I believe will help them going forward at champs.
The Minnesota Rokkr have only played one series with this lineup and therefore can surprise some teams. This is a big advantage for them as shown in their 6-1 Search and Destroy victory against the New York Subliners.
Prediction
OpTic Gaming have to be favoured in this matchup due to the calibre of their squad, so i’m taking an OpTic Gaming Los Angeles ML.
Pick: OpTic Gaming Los Angeles ML, 1.74 @ Midnite
Chicago Huntsmen vs Atlanta FaZe
The Chicago Huntsmen managed to take down the New York Subliners 3-2 last night. Scump was the main component in the Chicago Huntsmen’s victory, he put up a 1.28 overall K/D in the series and was the only Huntsmen player to finish with a positive K/D.
The Atlanta FaZe will play their first match at champs tonight. This could be a big disadvantage as they will be playing against a Chicago team who have already played a game five series. However, this is FaZe we’re talking about, and if anyone can come out hot, it’s going to be them.
Prediction
Last time these two teams matched up the Chicago Huntsmen absolutely dominated with a 3-0 victory. This will be a closer match. However, I think that it will be Chicago who takes it and therefore I’m going with a Chicago Huntsmen ML.
Pick: Chicago Huntsmen ML, 2.28 @ Midnite
Dallas Empire vs Toronto Ultra
Dallas Empire have been an incredible team all season and due to their lineup of Clayster and Crimsix I believe they will be extremely prepared going into Playoffs. Clayster tweeted that he predicted Toronto to defeat Florida, this means that they have definitely practiced to play Toronto and will have some excellent strategies to defeat them.
The Toronto Ultra are currently on a 6 series win streak and have been playing some incredible Call of Duty. CleanX has been amazing at Playoffs and is one of the main reasons why the Toronto Ultra are in this position now.
Prediction
Toronto won 3-1 in their last matchup against Dallas and the head to head is tied 1-1. This will be a close series, so yet again I’m sticking with the ML bet. I have to favour Dallas, they are a strong team who will work out how to defeat Toronto and they will play to their strengths. However, Dallas have to slow down CleanX. If they can’t keep him under control, this could be a Toronto victory.
Pick: Dallas Empire ML, 1.50 @ Midnite
