Astralis begin their first game of the year with a matchup against Evil Geniuses in the opening round of BLAST Premier: Global Final 2020. They won their last three fixtures against Vitality (2-1), Natus Vincere (2-1), and Team Liquid (3-0) at the final of the Intel Extreme Masters Global Challenge 2020 that made them the champions of the tournament. Asides from winning the IEM Global Challenge 2020, Astralis also won the DreamHack Masters Winter 2020: Europe tournament, after a clear victory over Mousesports (3-1) at the finals to be champions.
For Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz and his team, this will be their first official feature since November, where they were defeated by Chaos Esports Club at the Intel Extreme Masters Beijing-Haidian 2020 North America semi-finals.
It is not shocking to see sportsbooks peg Astralis as huge favorites to win this fixture, as they are the number one team in the world. Being their first game after the break, it is expected that they might give away a map to Evil Geniuses.

The second matchup of the day at the BLAST Premier: Global Finals 2020 will feature G2 Esports in a fiery battle with Furia. G2 Esports are favorites to win this fixture.
G2 Esports last featured in an official game in December, where they locked horns with Astralis in a BLAST Premier Fall 2020 – Finals tournament. They lost the game to Astralis by a clear victory (2-0). Furia also lost their last official match to Team Liquid (0-2) at the IEM Global Challenge 2020.
Both teams overall head to head has G2 Esports in the lead with a record of 8-1-5. They had met three times in 2020, with G2 Esports winning twice and Furia once. Their last meeting being in December at the BLAST Premier Fall 2020, where Furia won the first map, but G2 Esports pulled a comeback with 19-17 and 16-11.
Furia will be without Henrique “HEN1” Teles’ replacement, Paytyn “Junior” Johnson, due to the travel limitations. They will have to make do with their academy player Lucas “honda” Honda.
We expect G2 Esports to win in this bout, even though they had a poor run in December.
Pick: G2 ESports to win (-270) at BetOnline
