Overwatch League Grand Finals Head to Los Angeles

A Look at OWCS Dallas Major

The Overwatch Champions Series Dallas Major is set to begin on May 31st, and there will be plenty of action before things wrap up on June 2nd. There will be three different regions represented at this major, and that will allow teams to show off how the game is played in their part of the world.

From the North American Region, M80, Students of the Game, and Toronto Defiant will try to make a deep run in Dallas. These teams were all able to qualify through the OWCS circuit, and these teams represented the top three spots in this region.

That is exactly how teams from the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Region were decided, and there will also be three teams competing. Representing this region will be ENCE, Spacestation Gaming, and Twisted Minds.

Two teams are making the long journey from Asia as well, and that will add a completely different flair and style of play. Crazy Raccoon and Team Falcons will be looking to show the rest of the world their skills,

Since all of these teams had to qualify in order to reach this tournament, every roster is absolutely loaded with talented players. This is a sport that is trying to become as popular as others, and this event should create plenty of excitement and intrigue.

A number of these players have competed in the Overwatch League in the past, and that will bring some household names to this event. All of the action will be taking place at DreamHack Dallas, and the action can be streamed on Twitch.

Odds to Win Title

One nice thing about any esports major event is that there are always some great betting odds available, and that will be the case in this event. It appears that two teams are coming to the OWCS Dallas Major as clear favorites, but that doesn’t mean that there can’t be some upsets as well.

Crazy Raccoon is coming into this event as the clear betting favorite at -125, but they will also have a big target on their backs. Team Falcons is always a threat to win major tournaments, and they have odds set at +200 for this tournament.

The odds really start to fall off from there, but there are four other teams that could be in the mix. Those teams include:

  • Toronto Defiant +900
  • Spacestation Gaming +1000
  • M80 +1400
  • ENCE +1600

Students of the Game and Twisted Minds both have odds set at +50000 and it would be a major shock to see either of these teams come away with the title.

Free Things Coming

Not only will the action be terrific as the teams are battling it out, but the OWCS is going to take care of the fans as well. There will be a number of OWCS Ashe skins available to the fans that are following along with the action, and the process of unlocking the skins can be found on Twitter (X).

Many of the top esports leagues and events are seeing record viewership numbers, and leaders of Overwatch are hoping to cash in as well. There are some incredible incentives available to players that log specific amounts of time watching the action on Twitch.

Those that log at least one hour on Twitch will be able to unlock a Dallas Major Day player icon, and the prizes are going to get even better from there. Fans can unlock a prize for every hour that they view the action on Twitch, with the grand prize being a OWCS Away Ashe skin after recording 12 hours of viewing.
