Fortnite Chapter 5 is Back

The esports industry is one that never seems to rest, but there are still some times in which games have to take some time off. That was the case recently with Fortnite, but Chapter 5 is now back and ready for more action from players. 

The brief winter break gave players a chance to regroup and catch their breath, but it also allowed Fortnite a chance to make some improvements as well. Fortnite recently unveiled a new update that needed to be downloaded, but there was another new feature just rolled out as well. 

Players that are looking for a new weapons option now have one available to them, and it’s one that is pretty interesting. The Lock On Pistol is now back as a part of Chapter 5, and it was an option that was pretty popular the first time around. 

This current Fortnite season is set to end on March 8th, 2024, and that will lead right into another chapter. Players should expect to see some other updates over the next few weeks, but it’s hard to complain about the updates that are already available. 

A Look at the Lock On Pistol

Fortnite has done a great job of coming up with new weapons over the last few seasons, but the Lock On Pistol is something very different from the other options. The Lock On Pistol gives players auto aim, and that is something that isn’t usually seen from the other weapons that are offered. 

This might look like a normal pistol at first glance, but it’s basically a cheat code when it is found and used. When trying to chase down an enemy, the lock on feature will automatically attach to an opponent and it will remain that way until the entire clip is empty. 

Players are always trying to find an additional edge when using a new weapon, and Fortnite has made one available with this weapon. Tilting the weapon up will lock on to an opponent’s head, and that should allow for that player to be eliminated. 

This was not a popular weapon when it was first rolled out, but it became one that players were anxious to get back. This isn’t going to be a weapon that is available to everyone though and it will take some searching to find it. 

Most of the featured weapons are going to be limited to just one location in the game, but this is going to be more readily available. Players will be able to find the Lock on Pistol in the normal loot pool, and there will be opportunities throughout each level. 

This is going to add a fun new wrinkle to Chapter 5, but it’s not clear whether or not the Lock On Pistol is going to move forward past March 8th. 

Fortnite Played on the Big Stage

The playing of esports just continues to be more popular, and there are tournaments held at major venues throughout the year. It’s nothing to see an esports tournament played on a massive screen, but it can also be played on the big stage for just normal game play. 

Fortnite has been spotted on the jumbotron at Fenway Park in early January, but it’s unclear who was playing, and what the occasion was. A fan noticed that Fortnite was being played inside of the stadium as the game could be seen on the Jumbotron from the highway. 

The Call of Duty League has already confirmed a date at Fenway Park in 2024, but the baseball stadium is apparently a fan of all esports games.
