The Rocket League Championship Series is back for another year, and the detail for the 2024 version of the event are now out. This RLCS is open to anyone that wants to play, and there is a prize pool of $4.3 million that is available.

Rocket League has announced that there will be some changes to the championship series in 2024, but it should allow for others to get involved in the event. There are going to be three big tournaments that take place in-person, and qualifying for those events will happen soon.

There are a ton of great esports game out there in the industry, but Rocket League is consistently one of the top options out there. Just like in previous years, this is going to be a championship series that accepts players from throughout the world.

A Look at the Format

The three in-person tournaments will have the same look and feel as previous years, but The Rocket League wants to give online players a chance to get involved as well. The three in-person tournaments are called:

  • RLCS Major 1
  • RLCS Major 2
  • Rocket League World Championship

Teams will once again be split up by region, and that is where the online tournaments can be found. There will be three online tournaments in each region, and a couple of different tournament formats are going to be used.

Getting into the top 16 is going to be the first step for each team looking to qualify, but there are going to be more competitions held as well. Eventually the top eight teams are going to be ranked based on their position, and RLCS points are going to be handed out.

The regions are just the starting point in the RLCS as the ultimate goal is to prove that each team is better than any others in the world. The Rocket League World Championships are set to take place in September, but there will be nonstop action up to that point.

Plenty of Regions

The best place to get information about how to sign up for the Rocket League Championship Series is to follow Rocket League Esports on either Twitter or Instagram. There is plenty of additional information available, and the social media sites will also keep you up to date on the action that is taking place.

The signup process is set to begin on January 17th and each region will have a different process in order to get people signed up. There won’t be a ton of time in order to get a team signed up as the rosters are going to lock on January 22nd.

Following along with the RLCS is a simple process as all of the top events are going to be found on YouTube, Twitch or TikTok. Not every battle is going to be streamed, but there will be more live broadcasts as the season unfolds.

There are currently seven different regions identified by the Rocket League Championship Series, and that is where representatives are going to be coming from. Here is a look at the seven regions, and the number of teams that can advance to the World Series from each:

  • Asia-Pacific (Top Team)
  • Europe (Top four teams)
  • Middle East and North Africa (Top two teams)
  • North America (Top four teams)
  • Oceania (Top two teams)
  • South America (Top two teams)
  • Sub-Saharan Africa (Top Team)

16 total teams will advance to the final event to be held in September, and this just shows how popular this esports game is worldwide. Points will be handed out in each region first, but the competition will be completely new once they meet up in-person.
