Schedule for the ESL Mobile Open 2021 Has Been Announced

One of the world’s largest Esports companies, ESL Gaming, has announced the schedule of the 2021 ESL Mobile Open. With the announcement, it was revealed that the tournament will be a global affair as players from more countries will be allowed to participate. Players from North American, Europe/Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Asia-Pacific.

ESL Gaming has partnered with a few big names in the Esports industry to make this possible. Game developers and publishers like Gameloft, Riot, Tencent, e.t.c. are some of the listed partners of the ESL Mobile Open 2021. Players from 80 eligible countries across all skill levels are welcome to register.

Schedule and Titles that Will Feature in the ESL Mobile Open

Seven titles will feature in the tournament. However, not all regions will compete in all the titles. Here is a break-down of the regions and the titles available.

North America

  • Asphalt 9: Legends

  • Clash of Clans
  • Clash Royale
  • PUBG Mobile

Europe/MENA

  • Asphalt 9: Legends

In total, six different titles will feature in the ESL Mobile Open 2021.

The scheduling is based on the competition format, which we will discuss next. However, the competition will run from April – July before a winner is announced. Below is the full schedule:

  • Mobile Open Play (Ladder #1) – April 12 – May 6, 2021
  • Mobile Open Play-In Weekend (Ladder #1) – May 7 – May 8, 2021
  • Mobile Open Play (Ladder #2) – May 10 – June 3, 2021
  • Mobile Open Play-In Weekend (Ladder #2) – June 4 – June 5, 2021
  • Mobile Challenge Regular Season – June 15 – July 7, 2021
  • Mobile Challenge Finals – July 17 – 18 and July 22 – 23

ESL Mobile Open Format

Two action-packed seasons will be hosted by ESL, of which players will fight for a larger portion of the $650,000 prize pool. The first season (the ESL Mobile Spring) will kick-off in April and give players of all skill levels the opportunity to compete in the two tiers available – The ESL Mobile Open and the ESL Mobile Challenge. The Mobile Open is the early stage, where players will have the opportunity to work their way up through two Ladder stages and two Play-In stages. People who perform well after that round of fixtures will get a spot in the Mobile Challenge.

In the ESL Mobile Challenge, the top teams from the Mobile Open will compete against invited teams in a regular season. After all said and done, the top teams in the regular season will proceed to the Mobile Challenge Finals.

As what is becoming regular practice, all games in the ESL Mobile Open 2021 will be held online. However, subsequent finals competitions may be hosted live at major Esports events globally. Also, action from the ESL Mobile Challenge will be streamed live across all ESL Gaming platforms (Twitch and YouTube). It is worth noting that registration is free and players of all skill levels from the eligible countries and regions are welcome to register.
