Beijing-Haidian to host Intel Extreme Masters

ESL has announced that the 77th global Intel Extreme Masters will be heading to Beijing to celebrate its 10th-year anniversary.

The tournament will take place from November 7-10th at Beijing University Students’ Gymnasium. Eight CS:GO teams will go head-to-head for the total prize pool of $250,000 and a victory towards the Intel Grand Slam.

IEM Beijing-Haidian will see five invited teams and three teams fight for a spot through a series of online qualifiers. So far, Intel Grand Slam titleholders Astralis and Team Liquid have been confirmed as attending.

To celebrate this huge accomplishment, we are excited to fill renowned venues and stadiums around the world instead of trade fairs, and we are proud to bring our tournament to some of the most coveted fans. This is just the kick-off for many more great esports moments throughout Asia and especially China.”

The eight participating teams will battle in a double-elimination group stage in progress to the playoffs. The final four teams will then compete in single-elimination, best-of-three matches on the main stage. The remaining two teams will then head to the best-of-five Grand Final on Sunday 10th November.

In addition to the tournament, ESL has confirmed all attendees will have the opportunity to meet their idols at signing sessions and on-site activations.
