Savage Round-Up CS:GO roster with Golden, Tenzki, And DevilWalk

Swedish organization-less Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, Savage, completed its roster on Tuesday, March 8, with the addition of three new players. Amongst the newest signings is also former Fnatic player, Maikil “Golden” Selim, who will take over as the in-game leader.

Savage announced the addition of Golden, Jesper “⁠TENZKI⁠” Plougmann, and coach Jonatan “Devilwalk” Lundberg, who will round up the new-look Scandinavian CS:GO roster. The trio will team up with William “draken” Sundin, Denis “grux” Gutaj, and Adam “dezon” Wahlqvist, who have remained with the team through the recent roster change.

Golden and TENZKI join Savage as replacements for Simon “twist” Eliasson and Niclas ‘PlesseN’ Plessen, who left to join Team Finest on Monday, March 7.

By adding Golden, Savage signed one of the most experienced CS:GO players in the scene. The former Fnatic member joins Savage, looking to fulfill his wishes to create and lead a team in his vision.

Meanwhile, TENZKI joins Savage hoping to re-launch his CS:GO esports career. The 27-year-old was last seen competing in late 2021 with South.

However, he has not recorded a single official match since leaving Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen. After struggling to find a team to play for, TENZKI transitioned to Valorant when he announced his retirement from CS:GO on January 10.

Big his stint in Riot Games’ FPS title was rather short-lived. The Dane returned to CS:GO in March when he appeared in the PGL Major Antwerp open qualifiers with a stack Spikers.

For Golden, joining Savage is a perfect opportunity to bring his experience to help build a team that is capable of competing at the highest level. He last tried that while he looked over Fnatic Rising as a head coach.

And while Golden ended up leaving the organization, he has helped the Fnatic youngsters reach the finals of WePlay Academy League Season 1. However, as a player, Golden has not been too active since he left Fnatic’s main team in September 2021.

He recently stood in at Team Finest, who he helped through four tournaments so far in 2022. Albeit, Golden could not find much success competing with the Israeli squad.

With Team Finest, Golden could only manage a 21st-23rd place finish at Pinnacle Winter Series #1, 13th-15th at Elisa Invitational Winter 2021, 17th-24th at Malta Vibes Knockout Series #6, and most recently, a 16th-18th-place finish at the Thunderpick Bitcoin Series.

In an interview, Golden spoke about the plans for Savage going forward and his high expectations for the team.

“Me and Devilwalk talked about creating the next team for the future within the Swedish scene,” said Golden.

“A lot of things happened quickly and we found ourselves with the Savage players, draken, dezon and grux. After talking with them and somewhat explaining my vision for the future, everyone was on the same page.”

Golden further explained that he plans to work closely with DevilWalk to structure a team with solid foundations for the future. At the same time, he also noted that he is aware Savage has a lot of work ahead of them but that he feels hopeful that the team can achieve a lot by the end of the year.

“The next step is to structure everything with Devilwalk as the coach and make this a team for the future. TENZKI will also play with us, we have some language barrier issues which we are hopeful to resolve with time.”

“We have a lot of work ahead of us, and even though we are not committed to any organization, we promised to stay with each other for the upcoming six months.”
