Florida Mutineers Sign MajorManiak

Call of Duty League franchise Florida Mutineers announced the signing of Mike “Majormaniak” Szymaniak. The former Minnesota ROKKR player will replace Dave “Davpadie” Maslowski ahead of the Call of Duty League Major IV qualifiers.

Call of Duty League team, Florida Mutineers, announced a major roster change on Wednesday, June 22. As revealed, the Mutineers have signed Majormaniak to its CoD division, who joined the team just two days ahead of the CDL Major IV qualifiers.

As stated by the team, the Mutineers added Majormaniak because they felt the roster needed a change. As a result, Florida Mutineers started trialing players to replace Davpadie and Reece “Vivid” Drost, who have not been playing as well as expected.

Now, after a long trialing process, the Mutineers seemingly found replacements. First, the team parted ways with Vivid, who left the team and joined Boston Breach. Later, the Mutineers also benched Davpadie to make room for the new arrival.

MajorManiak now joins a team as the third player on the Mutineers’ new roster. He will team up with Cesar “Skyz” Bueno and Joseph “Owakening” Conley; however, who will fill in the fourth and final spot remains to be seen.

With only three active players, the Mutineers will need to look for one more member to round up its lineup. However, the team could always look to bring back either Davpadie or Christian “Yeez” Faircloth, who are currently substitutes.

MajorManiak is a 24-year-old CoD pro player who started his career back in 2017. At the time, he was playing for some lesser teams, including Lethal Gaming and Impact Gaming, and in July 2018, he joined Elevate.

With Elevate, he has achieved some success, but nothing too exceptional. Still, MajorManiak kept making a name for himself, eventually earning him a contract with Gen.G in January 2019.

With Gen.G, MajorManiak reached new heights in his esports career and helped the team place second at CWL Anaheim 2019. The team would later also place top-four at CWL Pro League 2019, and they claimed a silver medal in CWL Pro League 2019 Playoffs.

Unfortunately, MajorManiak’s journey with Gen.G had a bitter ending. As a team that dominated throughout the 2019 season, Gen.G fell flat in Call of Duty World League Championship 2019, where they placed 25th-32nd.

Following the disappointing performance, MajorManiak left the team and got picked up by Atlanta FaZe for the inaugural CDL season. With FaZe, he has achieved plenty of success, winning the Call of Duty League 2020 Launch Weekend, Call of Duty League 2020 Week 3 – Atlanta, and Week 7 – Florida.

He would help the team finish the season with a runner-up finish at the Call of Duty League Championship 2020 but was cut from the roster for the 2021 season. Throughout 2021, MajorManiak played for Minnesota ROKKR, with who he won Call of Duty League 2021 – Stage 2 and placed fourth at the Call of Duty League Championship 2021.

But the team couldn’t emulate that success in 2021, and after struggling to achieve anything over the first two Majors, ROKKR decided to cut ties with MajorManiak.

With MajorManiak joining the team, Florida Mutineers will hope they can bounce back from a poor start to the season. The squad has yet to impress in 2022, although they had achieved some success with a fourth-place finish in Major 2.

Still, that remains Mutineers’ only notable achievement of the year. The team has since placed top-eight at Pro-Am, seventh in Major 3 qualifiers, and they couldn’t make it further than round three of CDL Major 3.

Still, there is a sense of optimism in Mutneers’ camp as they now field a new AR player, who should fit in perfectly with the rest of the roster. Now, we are left waiting for the Mutineers to announce Vivid’s replacement, which should come in the coming days.
