Week 2 of LCS is in the books, and FlyQuest has taken a quick lead in the standings of the North American pro-League of Legends league. FlyQuest is the only remaining undefeated team at 4-0 and will have to play two of the better team in the LCS this week. With only a few days left until more LCS matches, we will break down the highlights of last week while looking forward so you can get all your action down on the games.
FlyQuest had a great week which saw them dismantle Cloud9 in an absolute show of pure dominance. When you add their great performance against Golden Guardians to the weekend and FlyQuest couldn’t be feeling better as they now sit as the sole leaders of the LCS.
100 Thieves and Evil Geniuses both redeemed their opening week 1-1 performances by coming out in Week 2 and securing both games, putting themselves into a three-way tie with Cloud9 for 2nd place in the standings. Both teams came into the split with high expectations and are hoping this week is the start of a new trend for them.
CLG and TSM both had a disappointing Week 2, with CLG losing to both Cloud9 and Immortals Progressive and TSM losing to 100 Thieves and Evil Geniuses. Both teams are now tied for 5th with 2-2 records. Both teams have lost the momentum they started the year with, and it will be up to them to turn the tide before they find themselves lower in the standings next week.
STANDINGS
Cloud9 (3-1)
100 Thieves (3-1)

CLG (2-2)

My first match of the week is going to be FlyQuest vs. Evil Geniuses. Coming into the season, both of these teams were high on people’s power rankings, and for good reason. Both teams were built not just for LCS success but also for international success as well. Though we are sure to see plenty of this match-up down the road this year, this will be a great early taste of what’s to come.
My second match of the week is FlyQuest vs. 100 Thieves. Everything I said above about FlyQuest vs Evil Geniuses can be applied to this match-up as well. 100 Thieves has consistently been one of the best North American League of Legends teams since their creation, and it’ll be interesting to see if they’ll be able to put up a better fight against FlyQuest than Cloud9.
My final match of the week is Evil Geniuses vs Cloud9. In a week that is delivering some great match-ups early on in this season, Evil Geniuses and Cloud9 both have an opportunity to separate themselves from the small pack that is forming below FlyQuest in the standings. Expect Cloud9 to be motivated to have a better performance after their embarrassment to FlyQuest.
