Korean Teams Start Strong in VCT: Pacific League

The VCT: Pacific League prepares for Week 4 action. We break down the top performers so far this year as they prepare to face eachother next week.

Three weeks are in the books for the Valorant Champions Tour: Pacific League, and so far, the Korean teams have gotten off to a fast start. DRX and Gen.G Esports sit at the top of the league both have yet to lose a match. Meanwhile, T1 has gotten off to a strong 2-1 start. All eyes will be on these three teams as fans wonder if the Korean teams will be able to maintain their momentum. 

Current Valorant Champions Tour: Pacific League Standings

DRX has had an absolutely dominant run so far in the Valorant Champions Tour: Pacific League. Building off their good showing at the LOCK//IN tournament, DRX has yet to lose a single map this year, currently going 6-0 in individual games. With their toughest opposition yet this week in Paper Rex, DRX will be put to the test. Another 2-0 this week would send a message not just across the Pacific League but the Valorant Champions Tour as a whole. 

Gen.G Esports has had a great start to their season, sitting with a 3-0 record. They’ve only lost one map so far this season which is an impressive feat. However, the level of opposition they’ve faced so far hasn’t been the best. So far this year, they’ve beaten Team Secret, Rex Regum Qeon, and DetonatioN FocusMe. This week’s match against T1 will be a great matchup for Gen.G Esports to show their strength.

 Paper Rex is a team that had high expectations coming into the season as one of the fan favorites. They got off to a great start taking down DetonatioN FocusMe 2-0. However, they were set back with a narrow 2-1 loss to Team Secret in Week 2. After bouncing back with a strong 2-0 win over T1 last week, expect Paper Rex to be ready to give DRX a challenge this week. 

T1 started out hot in the first two weeks of the Valorant Champions Tour: Pacific League going 2-0. The issue is they didn’t face hard competition in those matches beating Global Esports and Talon Esports. Last week they had a wake-up call as Paper Rex dismantled them in a 2-0 match. T1 will now try to prove the doubters wrong this week as they take on Gen.G Esports.

Valorant Champions Tour: Pacific League Schedule and Odds

My first match of the week is Paper Rex vs. DRX on Saturday to start off the week. This could very well be the two best teams in the league going against eachother in an early matchup. I would be surprised and very impressed if DRX is able to maintain its perfect map record.

My other match of the week is T1 vs. Gen.G Esports. This is a prove-it match for T1, a team who had a ton of questions surrounding them coming into the season. I think this match will give us a ton of insight into the kind of team T1 is.
