LCS 2023 Summer Set To Kick Off On June 1st

League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2023 Summer is set to kick off on Thursday, June 1st, as initially scheduled, despite the complications and protests ahead of the last split of the season.

And with the dates set in stone and teams warmed up for the final split of 2023, it’s time to start asking ourselves which team have what it takes to win it all.

Three Complete Outsiders

According to the latest LoL betting odds, TSM (+5000), Immortals (+4000), and Dignitas (+3000) are the complete outsiders to win LCS 2023 Summer. The three teams have struggled to achieve much in LCS 2023 Spring, and neither made any significant roster changes that would turn them into legitimate title contenders.

TSM will enter the LCS 2023 Summer with a seven-man roster and a new coach. Yet despite TSM’s signings over the last two months, the organization failed to sign any star players. As evident, TSM are going through a rebuilding process and likely don’t have any serious goals to compete for the LCS crown this season, and the offered LoL odds reflect that.

Likewise, Immortals have not made any significant roster moves this offseason, which is not too inspiring, considering they placed ninth in LCS 2023 Spring – and will likely suffer the same fate.

The same can be said about Dignitas, who ended last split in 10th place, but unlike TSM and Immortals, Dignitas have added two solid players in Rich (top lane) and Diamond (support), which could help them remain competitive.

We could add Evil Geniuses (+1600) and Team Liquid (+1400) to the list of teams that will struggle to achieve much, not necessarily because they failed to improve their rosters. But instead, because both teams lost a few key players and likely won’t be as competitive as last term.

All Eyes On Cloud9 and FlyQuest

Cloud9 and FlyQuest were the main title contenders in LCS 2023 Spring, and that won’t change this split either. Cloud9 are priced at +250 to win the LCS 2023 Summer crown, while FlyQuest lead the betting markets at +200.

Both teams have proven their strength last term, with Cloud9 winning the championship and FlyQuest looking unstoppable throughout the regular season. FlyQuest had an unfortunate ending to the year, as they slipped in the playoffs, but that didn’t change the fact that this was one of the most stacked rosters in the league.

FlyQuest enter LCS 2023 Summer even stronger following the signing of support Vulkan, who joined the team from Evil Geniuses. His departure from EG alone was enough to make Evil Geniuses one of the underdogs to win the league, and that tells a lot about how big of a singing that is.

Talent-wise. Cloud9 and FlyQuest are far above any team in the LCS and are rightly priced as the favorites. But it’s tough to completely ignore the likes of 100 Thieves (+450), last year’s finalists Golden Guardians (+600), and the new addition to the league, NRG (+1000).

As with many splits before, the LCS looks to be very top-heavy, but we’ve seen numerous times before one of the underdogs outperforming the expectations. Whether the LCS 2023 Summer will be the same remains to be seen, but we won’t have to wait too long to see how the teams do.

LCS 2023 Summer kicks off on June 1st, with the opening match of the split between LCS 2023 Spring finalists, Cloud9 and Golden Guardians.
