The highlight of the BLAST Counter-Strike season is right around the corner as the BLAST Premier: World Final 2023 kicks off on the 13th as 8 of the best Counter-Strike teams take to the stage in Abu Dhabi to compete for their share of the $1M prize pool and the glory that comes with it. With recent roster changes and the switch to Counter-Strike 2, anything is possible with these teams competing. You won’t want to miss any of the action, which you’ll be able to catch on both YouTube and Twitch.

Team Vitality

Entering the tournament, the team to beat is clearly Team Vitality, who is coming off a couple of wins at top-tier tournaments in the BLAST Premier: Fall Final and the Gamers8 tournament. This is a team that has transitioned really well into the Counter-Strike 2 era of the sport, and they hope to be able to end the year on a high note for themselves and their fans. They’ve proven to be better than most of the teams competing within the last month at the Fall Final, but the question remains whether they’ll be able to replicate the success they had a month ago or if teams will have found an answer by then. 

Their current roster consists of apEX, Spinx, flameZ, mezii, and ZywOo, who is currently viewed as the best players in the World currently with the best odds to win tournament MVP with odds of +200.  You won’t want to miss this team in action when they play their first match on the 13th against Natus Vincere in the opening round of Group A. 

FaZe Clan

Right behind Team Vitality is FaZe Clan, who has also been having some impressive results recently. They went on a nice streak of tournament wins, taking the top honors at IEM Sydney, Thunderpick World Championship, and the CS Asia Championships before getting 2nd at the BLAST Premier: Fall Final. 

They’ve looked incredibly fluent in the move to Counter-Strike 2, with their roster of rain, broky, karrigan, frozen, and ropz who are putting in tons of hours into the game to find lineups and other little nuances to the game that will give their team the advantage. In a lot of people’s eyes, FaZe Clan is the biggest threat to Team Vitality, and we all know that they’d love to get another shot at them after falling short at the Fall Final. They’ll be opening up their tournament with a match against the mess that is Heroic on Wednesday. 

Heroic

Heroic is a team that betters need to steer clear of, as the team has taken quite the tumble this year after having a great start and even winning the BLAST Premier: Spring Finals. Their recent placements have been embarrassing for the organization, finding 21st-28th at the ESL Pro League Season 18 and failing to Top 4 at Roobet Cup, Thunderpick World Championships, and the BLAST Premier: Fall Final. The team is entering this tournament with two players on loan from different teams, and truly, at this point, the organization is just lucky to be able to field 5 players. If Heroic doesn’t flame out immediately in the Group Stage it would be considered a massive success by fans.
