Bilibili Gaming Back on Top After a Strong Week 5

Bilibili Gaming Pingan Bank takes back first place after having a dominant Week 5.

Week 5 in the LPL saw Bilibili Gaming Pingan Bank take back sole possession of 1st place after a dominant 3-0 week. Bilibili Gaming Pingan Bank played their cleanest League of Legends of the season this past week, as they didn’t drop a single game completing the perfect week. They’ll have to hope that Beijing JDG Intel Esports Club drops some games in the next couple of weeks if they have any shot at keeping the 1st seed going into playoffs, as that single loss could severely hurt them.

Current LPL Standings

  1. Bilibili Gaming Pingan Bank (11-1)
  2. Beijing JDG Intel Esports Club (10-1)
  3. TOP ESPORTS (9-3)
  4. Suzhou LNG Esports (8-4)

JDG Not Far Behind

Beijing JDG Intel Esports Club is sitting at 10-1, only a single game behind Bilibili Gaming Pingan Bank’s 11-1. Bilibili only holds the lead due to fortuitous scheduling. As long as JDG Intel Esports Club continues to dominate, they’ll likely take the top seed from Bilibili after taking them down in a dominant 2-0 on June 18th.

Last Week Beijing JDG Intel Esports Club went 2-0, taking down Shenzhen NINJAS IN PYJAMAS and Ultra Prime. This week sees them taking on some of the teams stuck at the bottom of the standings in FunPlus Phoenix and Invictus Gaming. With only two more weeks, each game is going to matter.

On the Bubble

With only the Top 10 teams going to the postseason, teams on the bubble are starting to sweat as the season rapidly approaches the finale. Teams like Xi’an Team WE and Shenzhen NINJAS IN PYJAMAS are in danger of losing their spots if they can’t find more match wins in the coming weeks. You won’t want to miss the final few weeks, as the League of Legends drama will be high in China.
