Bilibili Gaming Jumps to Early Lead in LPL

Bilibili Gaming ended the 2023 LPL Spring Split with a miraculous run through the playoffs before making another impressive run to the Mid-Season Invitational Finals.

Bilibili Gaming ended the 2023 LPL Spring Split with a miraculous run through the playoffs before making another impressive run to the Mid-Season Invitational Finals. After a short turn offseason, they’ve quickly grabbed control of the top spot in the LPL standings. With most teams having completed at least four matches, some teams are making moves in a last-ditch attempt to qualify for the World Championships. One of those teams is Edward Gaming Hycan, who has brought on legendary LPL ADC Uzi to replace Leave.

Uzi’s Return to Pro Play

Uzi’s first start for Edward Gaming Hycan will come Wednesday morning against Invictus Gaming. Both teams are struggling at this point in the season, sitting with 1-3 records. Uzi was one of if not the best ADC in the world prior to his retirement back in the summer of 2020, known internationally for his very successful career with Royal Never Give Up. He had a short run with Bilibili Gaming in 2022 but has, for the most part, remained inactive from the pro scene since the 2019 season.

Bilibili Gaming’s Dominance

Bilibili Gaming showed no signs of fatigue in their return to domestic play, jumping out to a quick 5-0 match record and sole possession of the top spot in the LPL Standings. The one critique for the skeptics is the fact that Bilibili’s strength of schedule has been on the weaker side. Their wins have been over Oh My God, Rare Atom, Edward Gaming Hycan, Ultra Prime, and Anyone’s Legend, none of whom are showing themselves to be frontrunners for the Summer title. They’ll have their biggest test of the season in JDG Intel Esports Club later this weekend.
