Tournament Front Runners

Eternal fan favorite OpTic Texas just so happens also to be a favorite to win the tournament after having an incredible run in the qualifiers, going a perfect 5-0. During Qualifiers, they took down the other top teams beating Atlanta FaZe, Florida Mutineers, Las Vegas Legion, Seattle Surge, and Toronto Ultra. To top it off, they dropped only 3 maps in their streak of dominance, and they hope to carry that momentum into the main event.  Their opening round match will be against the Florida Mutineers, a team they already dominated.

Atlanta FaZe is another favorite to take the whole thing losing only a single match to OpTic Texas in Qualifiers. The loss occurred in the first week of play, and Atlanta looked absolutely dominant after the loss. They were able to beat the L.A Guerrillas, London Royal Ravens,  Las Vegas Legion, and Boston Breach in Qualifiers only dropped 2 maps in their four wins. They’ll meet up with the Las Vegas Legion in the opening round of the main event.

The other big contender to take the whole thing is the host team, the Toronto Ultra. They come are the 3rd seed going into the main bracket after going 3-2 in the qualifiers. However, their wins were over the low-level competition in the Seattle Surge, Los Angeles Guerrillas, and Los Angeles Thieves. They’ll have a stadium of fans backing them when they start off their bracket run against the New York Subliners, and that support cannot be understated.

Teams Starting in the Lower Bracket

The bottom four teams from qualifiers are starting the bracket with their backs against the wall as they face immediate elimination as they’ve been seeded into the Loser’s Bracket. Those teams are the Los Angeles Thieves, Seattle Surge, Los Angeles Guerrillas, and London Royal Ravens.

They’ll have to up their game if any of them have a chance at making a deep run in the tournament, as they currently have a collective record of 3-17, and none of them have won more than a single match. However, having an extra day off may help a few of the teams as they await the losers from the 25th’s matches.

Call of Duty League Major V Schedule

My match of the week is the Toronto Ultra vs. the New York Subliners. This is the most even of the opening matches, and it’ll be the first look to get to see the host team with their fans in attendance. You won’t want to miss it when the Call of Duty action as Major V gets underway.
