With the new Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare III, in the hands of fans across the world, the stage is set for yet another year of competitive fps action as the Call of Duty League’s 2024 season starts this weekend with the start of the Boston Major Qualifiers. With all new rosters going to compete on some of the most iconic maps in Call of Duty history, fans are sure in for a treat as the CDL returns to action. You’ll be able to stream all of the games live on both Twitch and YouTube.
The team that everyone has their eyes on coming into this season is Atlanta FaZe, who looks like an absolute monster after returning 3 of their players last year and adding Drazah. Oddsmakers love the Atlanta FaZe so much that the four players on Atlanta’s roster are the players with the top four odds of winning the Call of Duty Regular Season MVP award. Atlanta is definitely one of the teams to beat coming into the season, and they’ll have two opportunities to show why as they take on the Boston Breach and Los Angeles Thieves in the opening weekend of play.
The Toronto Ultra enters the season with the 2nd best odds of winning the CDL Championship at the end of the year after falling in the Grand Finals last season. After returning 3 of their players and adding Envoy, the team sets their eyes on returning to the Grand Finals to do that which they failed to do a year prior. They enter as massive favorites against the Los Angeles Guerrillas in their only match this week. Unfortunately for this roster, fans will be expecting a big-time win from this squad immediately, which already has high expectations.
The defending Call of Duty League Champions enters the season with the 4th best winning the championship despite returning 3 of their players from last year in Skyz, Hydra, and Kismet, who will all be hungry and eager to repeat their success this year. Last year, this team shocked the world as they upset the Toronto Ultra in the Grand Finals in a dominant blowout 5-0. Still, Toronto is ahead of them in the odds, but this is a New York squad that doesn’t mind being overlooked. They have two matches this weekend to remind fans that they’re the defending champs. Their first match against OpTic Texas on the 8th is a can’t-miss match for any die-hard Call of Duty Esports fan. The action all starts this weekend.
