Riot Games, in a significant move to expand its esports footprint, has announced ‘Convergence’, the first-ever international VALORANT tournament in India, in collaboration with The Esports Club. Scheduled for December 14-17, 2023, at the Manpho Convention Center in Bangalore, Convergence marks Riot’s first international VALORANT event in India, showcasing its dedication to the country’s burgeoning gaming culture.
A Milestone for Indian Esports Fans
Sukamal Pegu, Esports Lead for India & South Asia at Riot Games, highlighted that Convergence is a gesture of gratitude towards Indian fans who have supported VALORANT since its 2020 launch. The event is not just a testament to the game’s popularity but also a platform for Indian fans to witness and interact with their favorite VALORANT athletes in person. This tournament serves as a perfect conclusion to the 2023 VCT season and signals the beginning of more international events in India.

The Esports Club’s Founder and Managing Director, Vamsi Krishna, expressed excitement over partnering with Riot Games for this landmark event. Convergence will feature top VALORANT teams from around the world, including Global Esports, FUT, Furia, Vitality, and GenG, from Riot’s VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) in Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
