Tier 1 Counter-Strike returns finally with the 7th edition of ESL One Cologne. However, in a slightly different online format, teams will be divided into 4 different regions; Europe, North America, Asia & Oceania. Let’s take a look at the competitors and our predicted winners,

Europe Prediction
There are some massive teams attending ESL One Cologne this year and it is setting up to be an excellent tournament. NaVi and Vitality seem to be most bookies favourites, however the world number one team BIG returned last week and were victorious at DreamHack Open Summer. This means that while BIG were already a scary name coming into the tournament, they now have even more momentum coming off a tournament victory themselves.
However, Heroic are a team which could cause a massive upset at ESL One Cologne. They recently came second at DreamHack Open Summer and they looked like an excellent team. At 23.00 to win, they’re definitely worth a small bet.
North America Prediction
North America may be more of a fight than the European division at ESL One Cologne. This is because we have teams such as Evil Geniuses, Furia and Team Liquid who are all very capable of winning this tournament. However, we also have 100 Thieves, Gen.G, MiBR and Cloud 9 who could all be underdogs and take down the big names in NA. This will definitely be a hard tournament to predict, however due to Evil Geniuses recent performances they have to be the favourites for me.
