THE FORMAT

The Play-In stage will start on September 9th with the seven participating teams being selected from Europe’s Regional Leagues runner-ups. The top three teams from the Play-In stage will then head to the groups.

The Group Stage will be seeded based off of previous finishes by each region in past European Masters events. Taking place over four days from September 16th to September 19th, the 16 teams will be divided into four groups. Each team will take part in best-of-1 round-robins, with the top two teams from each group proceeding to the playoffs on September 21st and 22nd.

The four winning teams from the playoffs will then head to the Live Finals. The best-of-five Semi-Finals will then take place on Saturday 28th September, before the Finals on Sunday 29th September.

Riot Games and ESL have confirmed a location for the Live Finals is in the works and will be announced very soon.

In April, the EU Masters Spring finals took place at the Haymarket Theatre in Leicester where Misfits Premier dominated SK Gaming Prime with a 3-0 victory. The tournament saw LEC challenger teams Rogue Esports Club, Splyce Vipers and Fnatic Rising all take part.

The Misfits Premier line-up recently made its debut in week five of the LEC. Misfits decided to sub out its entire starting roster after the team racked up a 2-6 record. The Misfits Premier squad managed to secure a 1-1 week with a loss to Splyce and a win over Rogue.
