FaZe Clan Wins IEM Chengdu 2024

The top Counter-Strike 2 teams in the world have been battling it out at IEM Chengdu 2024, and that event has finally come to a conclusion. Two of the top teams in the world advanced to the championship round, and it was FaZe Clan that came away with a win against MOUZ.

It’s been an interesting year so far for FaZe Clan as they actually game into this event after a disappointing end at PGL Major Copenhagen. FaZe suffered a loss to Team Astralis in the championship of that event, but they were able to get some revenge in the semifinals of this one.

This one didn’t take long to determine an outcome as FaZe Clan proved their dominance right away in this battle with MOUZ. They have now won seven straight series in this big rivalry, and MOUZ was quick to admit that they don’t have an answer in this matchup.

Karrigan is the best player on the FaZe Clan team, but he came into this event complaining about being worn down due to all of the big events lately. He might have been worn down a bit, but he still proved that he is one of the best players in the world at this tournament.

FaZe Clan had actually been in a bit of a slump at international events, and it was important for them to get back on the winning side of things. What made things even more special was the fact that it was karrigan’s birthday, and his team helped him celebrate it all in style.

Cloud9 Makes Roster Move

While it was FaZe Clan that was celebrating another championship, Cloud9 Gaming struggled to be competitive at the IEM Chengdu 2024. The team recently announced that it was moving on from ElectroNic, and that’s a move that will shake up this league.

Virtus.Pro was more than happy to add ElectroNic to their roster moving forward as the 25-year-old has already proven that he is a star in this league. He will immediately join their starting lineup, and it could allow this team to be more competitive moving forward.

Virtus.Pro suffered a loss to G2Esports in the quarterfinal round at the IEM Chengdu 2024, and they are looking to get back on top at the international level. This team has not won a major since 2022, although they have continued to qualify for the top events.

This has already been an extremely busy year for teams playing CS2 as many of the top teams have been looking to make roster moves. There has been a growing trend to make changes after not winning titles, and that was not the case up until the last few years.

Aurora Wins Skyesports Masters 2024

The IEM Chengdu 2024 was not the only major tournament that took place over the past week as the Skyesports Masters 2024 was also taking place. This was a major CS2 tournament in India, and that part of the world has been largely ignored when it comes to the top tournaments in this sport.

Aurora was able to win this tournament, and this team was pretty dominant throughout the entire run. There were only eight teams that participated in this tournament and that allowed the action to unfold pretty quickly.

Five teams were given invitations to compete in this tournament, while three other teams had to play their way into the event. This was not a tournament that had a massive live viewing audience as it became hard to secure a venue for this event.

The top teams from the Skyesports Masters will move on to bigger international events, and they will try to put this part of the world on the map.
