The 2023 Valorant Champions tournament has already been one for the record books. Of the sixteen teams that came to Los Angeles, only four remain competing for the title of 2023 Valorant World Champions.
On Thursday, Paper Rex and Evil Geniuses will battle it in the Upper Bracket Final, where the winner will qualify for the Grand Finals while the loser will face the winner of Fnatic vs. LOUD in the Lower Bracket Final.
You can catch all of the action on both YouTube and Twitch as the four best teams in the world battle it out for the ultimate crown.
The first match of the next round is expected to be one of the best matches of the tournament as Paper Rex and Evil Geniuses face off to be the first team to qualify for the 2023 Valorant Champions Grand Finals. Neither fans nor oddsmakers know what to expect from these two teams as the odds currently sit as a pick ‘em, with both teams sitting at -115.
Paper Rex has had an absolutely dominant run so far this tournament taking down both KRU Esports and Edward Gaming 2-0 to become the first seed out of Group A.
In the first round of the Playoffs, they smacked FUT Esports 2-0. Last week they showed poise against LOUD, winning their two maps by a margin of 3 or fewer points.
Evil Geniuses doesn’t care about Paper Rex’s perfect run as they are on one of their own. They were able to take down FunPlus Pheonix and FUT Esports to become the top seed out of Group B.
When the Playoffs rolled around, they kept the pressure up, taking down Edward Gaming 2-1 before taking down DRX in a dominant 2-0. You won’t want to miss this match as it is sure to deliver one for the ages.
The third installment of the Valorant Worlds tournament has already brought some dramatic matches, with no better example than last week’s Lower Bracket Quarterfinal between DRX and Fnatic.
The first match saw DRX dominate the tournament favorites 13-1 in a total embarrassment of a performance. With their tournament lives on the line, Fnatic dug deep and found wins on Haven and Split, winning both convincingly 13-9 and 13-6, respectively.
Though they entered the tournament as favorites, their play so far has left a lot to be desired. They now seek redemption against LOUD with their season on the line.
LOUD will feel confident entering this Lower Bracket Semifinal after already taking down Fnatic at this tournament in the first round of the Playoffs.
They won an impressive 2-0 match as underdogs taking games on both Ascent and Lotus, winning 13-11 and 13-6, respectively. They would fall in the Upper Bracket Semifinals to Paper Rex in a crazy back-and-forth 1-2 match.
LOUD will enter the Lower Bracket Semifinal off an impressive win over Edward Gaming in another intense back-and-forth match, this time going in the way of LOUD 2-1. The Chinese squad would take the first map Bind 13-11 before LOUD answered back with a 13-5 win on Ascent.
The third match would be a close one as well, as LOUD sealed the deal with a 13-11 win on Haven.
