Hanwha Life Esports Moving Up in the LCK

Hanwha Life Esports is moving up in the LCK, and having already beaten the top team, T1, many wonder if they will be able to dethrone them before playoffs.

Hanwha Life Esports is shaking up the Korean League of Legends scene after securing back-to-back 2-0 weeks. Hanwha Life Esports now sits in a three-way tie for third place in the LCK and still remains the only team to beat the top-ranked T1. With plenty of League of Legends left to be played in the regular season, only time will tell if Hanwha Life will be able to take the top seed going into playoffs.

Current LCK Standings

T1 still sits atop the LCK as the “Unkillable Demon King” Faker continues to lead his team to a near-flawless season. They went 2-0 last week, finding wins over kt Rolster and Liiv SANDBOX last week, further growing their lead over their competitors.

Gen.G also managed to pull off a 2-0 week last week. An impressive feat despite the fact they faced the two worst teams in the league, DRX and NongShim REDFORCE. They will have a step up in competition this week as they face kt Rolster and BRION in two crucial matches as Gen.G tries to defend their 2nd place spot.

The tie for third is a neck-and-neck race, and while we will have to wait to see how it all plays out, we will get a couple of answers this week as Dplus Kia and Hanwha Life Esports take each other on in one of my matches of the week. Liiv SANDBOX will get to play gatekeep against kt Rolster, who is just a game behind the group trying to make an end-of-the-season push in the standings.

Anything can happen in these final few weeks of the LCK, and you won’t want to miss a single game of the high-level League of Legends being played.

  1. T1 (11-1)
  2. Gen.G (9-3)
  3. Hanwha Life Esports (8-4)

Dplus Kia (8-4)

Liiv SANDBOX (8-4)

6. kt Rolster (7-5)

7. BRION (4-8)

8. Kwangodng Freecs (2-10)

DRX (2-10)

10. NongShim REDFORCE (1-11)

LCK Schedule and Betting Odds

My first match of the week is between kt Rolster and Gen.G on Thursday morning. The ramifications of this game are crazy. If kt Rolster can find the win, there will be a large group of teams all vying for second place. With their other match against Liiv SANDBOX, this maybe kt Rolster’s last chance at vying for a high seed before playoffs.

My other match of the week is Hanwha Life Esports vs Dplus Kia on Saturday. This is going to be a real test for Hanwha Life Esports and a chance for them to prove that the recent success isn’t a fluke. Both of these teams are in the tie for 3rd place in the standings and a win would be a big help to either team in their attempt at catching up to T1 and Gen.G
