LNG and JDG Sitting on Top of LPL

LNG Esports and JDG Intel Esports Club are ruling the LPL but will the early success be able to last?

LNG Esports and JDG Intel Esports Club both looked dominant in the past week, while Anyone’s Legend kept winning games but was still unable in securing their first match win of the year. Overall a pretty normal week for the Chinese League of Legends Pro League.

As the LPL prepares to start the fifth week of play, the state of the league is pretty competitive, with many teams showing that they have everything necessary to make a run at the title of Spring 2023 Champions. The season so far has had plenty of unpredictable matches, and you won’t want to miss a second of the League of Legends action.

Current LPL Standings

JDG Intel Esports Club had a pretty easy week beating the bottom two teams in the league. To their credit, they won both matches 2-0, but that’s the expected outcome against Royal Never Give Up and Anyone’s Legend. It’ll be interesting to see JDG Intel Esports Club get tested by another top team so we can start to get a better idea of what this team’s ceiling is.

LNG Esports was able to find wins over both Rare Atom and Oh My God. Though they were tested more than JDG, they also played better opponents. After having proven themselves last week, they get some easier matches though you can expect them not to go easy and not to overlook their opponents.

  1. LNG Esports (4-0)

JDG Intel Esports Club (4-0)

3. Invictus Gaming (4-1)

Top Esports (4-1)

5. Edward Gaming Hycan (3-1)

6. Team WE (3-2)

Rare Atom (3-2)

8. Weibo Gaming (2-1)

9. Thunder Talk Gaming (2-2)

Oh My God (2-2)

Bilibili Gaming (2-2)

12. LGD Gaming (1-3)

FunPlus Phoenix (1-3)

14. Ninjas in Pyjamas.CN (1-4)

Ultra Prime (1-4)

17. Anyone’s Legend (0-6)

Upcoming LPL Match Schedule

My first match of the week comes on Sunday, and it’s between Edward Gaming Hycan vs Bilibili Gaming. Edward Gaming Hycan fans have high expectations as the team has consistently been a powerhouse in the Chinese League of Legends scene. Coming into this year, the expectations weren’t the highest for Bilibili Gaming, and with them sitting at 2-2 and right behind Edward Gaming Hycan in the standings pulling off an upset win would give them a lot of momentum moving forwards.

My next match of the week is on Monday between Oh My God and Rare Atom. Despite being tied for 9th in the standings at 2-2, Oh My God had a competitive outing against the top-ranked LNG Esports, taking a game in the series. Rare Atom dropped a game to the bottom team in the league, Anyone’s Legend. This match could propel Oh My God in the standings if they’re able to find the win.
