LOUD Remains Perfect Heading into Final Weeks

The VCT: Americas league is coming to a thrilling conclusion we break down who still is competing for a playoff spot as we enter the second to last week of the season.

The Valorant Champions Tour: Americas League is preparing for its second to last week of the season as the competition comes to a breaking point. With only two matches left in the season, teams are fighting to qualify for playoffs before the end of the season. With only one team eliminated from playoff contention so far, you can expect some fireworks these last couple of weeks as nearly every team play for their lives.

Valorant Champions Tour: Americas League Standings

LOUD is the lone team to have clinched a Top 2 finish which allows them automatic seeding into the Upper Bracket Semifinals in the playoffs. The team expected to get a top seed in playoffs is Cloud9, who currently sits with a single loss. Cloud9 can clinch a top seed with a win over Leviatan this week.

Leviatan currently is in 3rd place thanks to tie-breakers, as there are currently three teams with a 4-3 record.  However, they will have the hardest final two matches of any of the teams as they face Cloud9 this week and LOUD next. Losing both matches wouldn’t necessarily leave them out of the playoffs. However, winning one would go a long way in helping them secure a spot.

NRG has hit their stride, currently on a 3-game win streak, having taken down KRU Esports, 100 Thieves, and FURIA Esports in the past few weeks. They have a tough challenge this week as they go face-to-face with LOUD. Next week will offer the much less threatening Evil Geniuses allowing a loss them to lose this week and still have decent prospects of making playoffs.

FURIA Esports has been alternating between winning and losing matches. They’ve still yet to find their rhythm this year despite showing an incredible ceiling. They have two easier opponents in 100 Thieves and Sentinels to close out the season, so FURIA will look to try and get a little win streak going into playoffs.

Evil Geniuses is currently in 6th in the standings currently ahead of 100 Thieves due to tie breakers. They’re going to be fighting for their post-season lives for the next two weeks as they take on MIBR and NRG. They are coming into this week’s match against MIBR coming off back-to-back wins. The next two weeks are going to be excellent tests to see if Evil Geniuses truly deserves a spot in the Valorant Champion Tour: Americas League playoffs.

100 Thieves is currently tied with Evil Geniuses at 3-4. They also have a solid chance to end the season with two more wins if they bring their A-game. This week they take on FURIA Esports before closing out the regular season against MIBR. 100 Thieves will be playing with a fire lit under them, as a couple of rounds could be the difference between playing in the playoffs and watching them at home.
