Mid Season Invitational 2024 Update

The best League of Legends teams in the entire world are currently battling it out at the Mid Season Invitational 2024, and there has already been some great action that has taken place. Group stage was the first part of this event, but things are now set up for the bracket stage portion of the event.

Since there are LoL teams from around the world competing at this event, that always creates some extra drama and intrigue. Not only is this event one that comes with drama and excitement, but it’s a great event to bet on as well.

Now that the bracket play is set to begin this week, it’s time to take a look at what has already transpired, and what teams are going home early.

FlyQuest Heading Home

There are a number of teams that had an early exit from the Mid Season Invitational, but the elimination of FlyQuest seemed to draw the biggest reaction. FlyQuest was looking to represent the North American region well at this event, but their team is now heading home to try to fix what went wrong.

Things were looking good for FlyQuest heading into the elimination stage before bracket play, but that is where things went wrong. FlyQuest was ultimately eliminated by PSG Talon and that was one of the biggest upsets so far at this event.

Gabriel “Bwipo” Rau is the top laner for the FlyQuest team, and he seemed to be taking the loss much harder than the rest of his teammates. Fans of FlyQuest and North American teams in general were extremely critical online after this match wrapped up.

FlyQuest was not among the betting favorites when this tournament began, but they were a team that should have been able to give top teams trouble. Things fell apart quickly for FlyQuest in the elimination matchup as PSG Talon took an early lead and never looked back.

Latin American Teams Fail

Every region was represented at the Mid Season Invitational in Group Stage, but that won’t be the case now that the bracket is set. There were two teams from the Latin American region in this competition, but it was an early exit for both of those teams.

Estral Esports and LOUD were the two representative from this region in this event, but there wasn’t a ton of hype around either team. This region would have been thrilled with one team making it to bracket play, but that didn’t end up coming true.

Estral Esports was another team sent home by PSG Talon , and they weren’t very competitive in that matchup. That came as a shock to the Estral Esports team as they had battled top teams earlier in the event.

LOUD was the team expected to advance from this region as they entered the elimination stage as a big favorite over GAM. There were some big mistakes made by LOUD in that matchup, and their run ultimately ended much earlier than many would have expected.

A Look at the Odds

Now that the championship bracket has been set, the future LoL odds have been updated as well. There haven’t been many changes made to the future odds as the top teams have all been able to advance.

When betting on the MSI 2024, making a prediction on the champion is going to be the bet that has the best betting value. Bilibili Gaming continues to be the betting favorite at +240 to win this event, but other teams are in a position to challenge them.

Here are some of the other top teams ready to make a run.

  • Gen.G +250
  • T1 Gaming +300
  • Top Esports +450

The odds really fall off after these four teams, but that doesn’t mean that there can’t be an upset.
