Misfits Gaming Group Announces Partnership With Asus ROG – And Other Esports News

The esports landscape is growing exponentially and, with the turn of the new year, it looks like this growth is paving the way for fruitful partnerships all across the industry. It is against this backdrop that the global esports company, Misfits Gaming Group (MGG) has announced its brand new partnership with the Taiwanese consumer technology and gaming hardware company ASUS ROG (Republic Of Gamers).

Particulars of the New Deal

In an announcement made by both companies earlier this week, it was confirmed that the antecedent agreement to the partnership would be valid for one year. During this period, ASUS ROG will assume a position as the official hardware supplier for Misfits Gaming as a whole. This coverage will include the latter company’s numerous esports teams, such as its Overwatch League team Florida Mayhem and its Call of Duty League team, the Florida Mutineers.

The deal looks like a win-win for both companies, with MGG agreeing to curate various content types for the gaming hardware company to use. On the other hand, members of Misfits’ three esports teams will receive Strix-branded PCs, laptops, and other purpose-built esports gaming accessories.

The charismatic Galip Fu, ROG’s Director of Global Marketing for PCs and Laptops, gave his thoughts on the new partnership:

“Misfits Gaming Group features some of the most exciting talents in esports, and we’re thrilled to supply these champion athletes with the latest ROG gear. We design gaming technology that performs at the absolute cutting-edge, and it’s an honor to see players of this caliber take full advantage of what our most powerful hardware can do.”

The level of excitement across the board at ROG will undoubtedly bode well for both companies’ future as they look to exchange the brand popularity and industry expertise they’ve earned as top players in their respective fields.

Other Partnerships Sweeping the Esports Landscape

While the Misfits/ASUS ROG partnership might be the biggest in the esports industry in a long while, it certainly hasn’t been the only one. Many top-level stakeholders share the recognition of brand partnerships as a tool for expanding esports’ reach and popularity.

Notably, Wave Esports also announced its new commercial partnership deal with the Swiss computing and gaming peripherals manufacturer Logitech. With this deal in the bag, Logitech becomes the Austrian esports organization’s first official partner.

Slightly different from the deal agreed by Misfits and ROG, this partnership will see Logitech assist Wave by organizing events like team bootcamps and content creation seminars. The Swiss company will also provide players and teams with a range of its popular gaming peripherals such as mice, headphones, keyboards, and recording equipment.

In speaking to the press, Wave Esports’ CFO Ivaelo Bozhilov said:

“For us at Wave, it was clear from the start that we would like to partner up with a renowned company such as Logitech. Managing to achieve this goal early, especially as our first partner, is incredible. We are very excited to build a long-lasting partnership with Logitech, and we are looking forward to engaging with new companies who can accompany us both on this journey and help us reach our full potential.”
