Rogue dominate Twitch Rivals Apex Legends tournament

Rogue have proven themselves as the best team in Apex Legends following the biggest tournament to take place on Respawn Entertainment’s Battle Royale title yet.

They put on a show at Twitch Rivals: Apex Legends – TwitchCon Europe Showdown, winning $74,600 out of the $500,000 prize pool.

Going into the TwitchCon Europe Showdown, NRG Esports were the team to watch with young prodigy Coby “dizzy” Meadows and popular Richard “KingRichard” Nelson both occupying the roster. It was Rogue that showed up big in Germany, however, putting themselves on the map in a big way.

Jordan “HusKers” Thomas, Chris “sweetdreams” Sexton, and Mark “Dropped” Thees managed to build up their prize winnings to almost $75,000 through acquiring an impressive number of eliminations and plenty of solid placements – the two determining factors of the prize distribution.

Apex Legends is still very much in its infancy when it comes to esports. Respawn Entertainment is yet to announce any official competitive push for the title, unlike its competitors: H1Z1 had a short-lived pro league, PUBG has just finished the first phase in its official esports season, and Fortnite is close to hosting its inaugural World Cup (which has a total prize pot of $30,000,000 – yes, you read that correctly).
