Team Vitality is reportedly adding two new junglers to its League of Legends roster. As reported, the European esports organization is looking to sign Kang “Haru” Min-seung and Zhou “Bo” Yang-Bo.
Following a lackluster performance in LEC 2022 Spring, Team Vitality will make changes to its League roster. As reported this week, Vitality will sign two new junglers in Haru and Bo, with the former taking over for Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek and the latter joining the team as a future prospect.
The roster changes come as a surprise to many but are justifiable. Team Vitality were billed as the next European LoL superteam, having picked up some of the best Western players ahead of the 2022 season.
However, despite assembling one of the most stacked rosters LEC has ever seen, Vitality couldn’t live up to the expectations. The team, which was supposed to be the main favorites to win the LEC, fell flat in the playoffs and ended the Spring Split in the second round of the postseason.
As a result, Vitality opted to make some much-needed changes to its lineup, albeit those come only in the jungle role. Still, the team shed some light on why they decided to take this step.
As revealed by Vitality, the roster move “was a request by the whole Vitality player roster and coaching staff”. Reportedly, there were differences in ideas around how to approach the mid-late game.
This led to the benching of Selfmade, who has extended his contract with Vitality ahead of the 2022 season. But despite being tied with the organization, the Polish jungler will remain on the bench for the foreseeable future.
Team Vitality has assembled a highly competitive roster ahead of the 2022 season, bringing in some of the top players to play in the LEC. That includes top laner Barney “Alphari” Morris, mid laner Luka “Perkz” Perković, and ADC Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság.
Meanwhile, jungler Selfmade and support Labros “Labrov” Papoutsakis have already been with the team from the previous year and remained the only carryovers from 2021.
But despite putting together a star-studded lineup, Vitality struggled to live up to the expectations. As a team that was expected to dominate the league, Vitality barely reached the LEC 2022 Spring playoffs.
The Bees finished the regular season with a 9-9 record, just one win clear of the cut-off line. And even in the postseason, Vitality did not improve one bit.
Vitality kicked off the 2022 LEC Spring Playoffs in the lower bracket, where they edged past Excel (3-2) in the first round. But they proved to be no match for G2 Esports, who eliminated them from the second round with a 3-0 sweep.
Even though Vitality showed incredible individual talent, the team lacked synergy in the mid-late game, leading to poor execution and lack of results. However, Vitality will address the issue heading into LEC 2022 Summer with the addition of a new jungler.
According to the recent reports, Vitaliy will add Haru ahead of the next split. Haru will take over for Selfmade as the starting jungler to help Vitality’s synergy.
Haru is currently the starting jungler of X7 Esports, with who he won the NLC 2022 Spring Playoffs and reached the final eight at European Masters 2022 Spring. Even though he has no experience competing in the LEC, Haru has proven to be one of the top junglers in the European scene and is considered the future European LoL star.
Besides adding Haru, Vitality will reportedly also sign Bo, a former FunPlus Phoenix member. Bo will supposedly be signed and developed this year in hopes he can blossom into a star-level player for the next season.
While known to be a member of the former world champions, Bo is mostly known as a player who was banned from competitive League for four months in 2021 after he was caught match-fixing during the LDLC 2022 season.
So even though Bo has a shady past, joining Vitality gives him another chance to prove himself and re-launch his LOL esports career.
