After 20 competitive matches of Valorant between the best teams in the world, the Playoffs Bracket for Valorant Champions has been set.
Over the past week, the sixteen best Valorant teams in the world have been battling it out in the Group Stage at the Valorant Champions tournament in Los Angeles.
The field has been cut in half, with the remaining eight teams being put into a double elimination bracket, with the winner being crowned Valorant World Champions at the end.
The opening match of the Valorant Champions Playoffs will be a rematch of the LOCK//IN Tournament Finals that took place in Brazil at the beginning of the season.
Back in Brazil, Fnatic was able to sneak out the victory 3-2, and though the LOCK//IN Final was close, LOUD comes into this one as sizable underdogs, with oddsmakers having them sitting around +305.
A large part of that is due to Fnatic’s absolutely amazing 2023 campaign so far, entering as the favorite to win the tournament and playing up to the expectations in Groups. Don’t count out LOUD either, though. The Americas League Champions are sure to put up an excellent fight.
The Pacific League Champions Paper Rex have had a pretty easy tournament so far, having a clean 2-0 record in Group A.
They took down Kru Esports and Edward Gaming with little resistance. They set their eyes on FUT Esports, who entered as the #3 seed from EMEA. They had a solid showing in Group B, taking T1 down twice in 2-0 matches.
Fans aren’t sure what to expect from this team as they’ve failed to take down any team not named T1, but they will have a chance to turn some heads if they can pull off the upset.
DRX came into the Group Stages focused and determined to perform well. Though both of their Group Stage matches went the distance, they were able to win both of them 2-1.
Finding wins over Loud and Natus Vincere. Bilibili Gaming is a team similar to FUT Esports, as they qualified for Playoffs by beating the same team twice, in this case, NRG.
NRG had maps that were competitive but couldn’t find a single-game win over Bilibili Gaming, who now looks to prove that they can beat more than just a mediocre America’s League team.
Evil Geniuses had a great showing in Group B though many fans were expecting that as Group B was seen as the weakest of the four. They didn’t drop a single map in Groups taking down T1 in a dominant 2-0 and FUT Esports in a more competitive 2-0.
They now will take on one of the best Valorant teams that China has to offer. Edward Gaming started their tournament out with a close 2-1 win over Giants Gaming.
This set up a match between Paper Rex and Edward Gaming, where Paper Rex would find a convincing 2-0 win. In the decider match, the most dominant form of Edward Gaming appeared absolutely smoking Giants Gaming, this time getting the 2-0 and a trip to the Playoffs.
