Toronto Ultra Win the Last Event of the Season at CDL Toronto

Toronto Ultra become the third team this season to win their own Home Series. They are also the 6th team to win an event and the 10th to reach a final. If you missed any action from their victorious run, here’s a recap of all their matches this weekend.

Toronto Ultra 3-2 OpTic Gaming Los Angeles

Toronto started off the weekend with a close 3-2 match against OpTic Gaming Los Angeles. After going 2-0 up with a 250-182 Hardpoint and 6-4 SnD where Cammy dropped a massive 17 kills. Toronto then lost the following two maps, 158-148 Domination and 250-208 in the Hardpoint saw OGLA force a game five. Here Toronto took the victory 6-4 again to win the series 3-2. Cammy topped the charts with a 1.26 overall K/D

Toronto Ultra 3-2 Chicago Huntsmen

After losing the first two maps 250-228 and 6-5, Toronto Ultra had to bounce back and they did just that. They took the Domination 161-157 in an extremely close game, before Prestinni disconnected due to a power outage which forced a 5v4 for Toronto. This allowed them to win this match and force a game five, hoping for the reverse sweep. A 6-4 game five saw Toronto take the series and secure their spot in the semi-finals. While this match wasn’t entirely fair, rules are rules and therefore Toronto get the free map 4 win.

Toronto Ultra 3-1 Dallas Empire (Semi-Final)

Dallas Empire were extremely unlucky this weekend, they had one of the closest 3-0’s of the year against Atlanta FaZe and without doubt, this is the closest 3-1 there has been so far. Toronto took map 1 250-247, before winning SnD in round 11. Dallas absolutely dominated the Domination winning 196-123 but Toronto responded with a 250-244 Hardpoint to take the series 3-1. This was an exceptionally close series, with Cammy continuing to excel dropping a massive 111 kills this series.

Toronto Ultra 3-2 Atlanta FaZe (Final)

After Atlanta FaZe hadn’t lost a map all weekend, many saw this as a clear win for FaZe. However, Toronto started off strong taking map 1 250-247, another extremely close Hardpoint. Map 2 saw FaZe dominate, winning 6-0 easily in one of the fastest SnD’s all season. In the Domination Toronto stopped FaZe from winning their sixth Gun Runner Dom in a row as they took the map 165-157. FaZe responded with an excellent 250-143 to force a game five. In the game five Toronto won the round 11 to take the series and their own Home event. Methodz finished this series with a 1.34 overall K/D, the highest in the lobby.

Toronto Ultra looked extremely strong this weekend. They secured their Winners Round 1 spot for the CDL Playoffs and will take on the London Royal Ravens.
