Valorant Champions Tour: Pacific Wraps Up 2nd Week

With two weeks in the books for the VCT: Pacific region, the standings are starting to show who the better teams are in the league. Who has a shot at making a statement this week?

The Valorant Champions Tour is in full swing, with all three leagues having started their regular season play. The Pacific Region teams are preparing themselves for their 3rd week of play. With 4 teams at 2-0, anyone could end this week on top. With play starting to heat up, you won’t want to miss any of the high-level Valorant action!

Current VCT: Pacific Standings

DRX came into the season confident after their impressive showing at the LOCK//IN tournament earlier this year. DRX made it to the semifinals, where they would fall 3-2 to LOUD. In their run, they showed poise under pressure beating BBL Esports, Cloud9, and Talon Esports 2-1. DRX is performing as well as people expected, and it will be up to them to keep performing at that level.

T1 has gotten off to a fast start taking down both GLOBAL ESPORTS and Talon Esports. This start helps eliminate the nasty taste in their mouth after their disappointing early exit in the LOCK//IN tournament when they lost in the first round to FURIA Esports 2-0. If they can continue their domestic dominance, they’ll have the chance to put up a better international performance later in the year.

Another team that had an early exit at LOCK//IN was Gen.G Esports. They, much like T1, have used it as motivation and have come out looking great taking, having already taken down Rex Regum Qeon and DetonatioN FocusMe. As they start facing harder competition, we will start to get a better picture of who this team is.

Team Secret is the last of the undefeated teams. After losing in the 2nd round of the LOCK//IN tournament, Team Secret came home and prepared for the season, and it’s shown taking down two impressive opponents in PAPER REX and Talon Esports. With all eyes on the big names in the league, like DRX and T1, Team Secret could easily surprise a ton of Valorant fans.

  1. DRX (2-0)
  2. T1 (2-0)
  3. Gen.G (2-0)
  4. Team Secret (2-0)
  5. PAPER REX (1-1)
  6. ZETA DIVISION (1-1)
  7. GLOBAL ESPORTS (0-2)
  8. DetonatioN FocusMe (0-2)
  9. Rex Regum Qeon (0-2)
  10. Talon Esports (0-2)

VCT: Pacific Schedule

My first match of the week is between T1 and PAPER REX on Saturday. After an impressive 2022, expectations have been high for a PAPER REX team that has yet to live up to the hype. I think this will be a great test for both teams and hope for everyone’s sake that this one goes all 3 maps.

My other match of the week is Monday’s match of Gen.G vs Team Secret. This match is going to tell us a lot about both teams. Gen.G has looked the past two weeks but also hasn’t been against the best competition. Team Secret has found their wins against two of the better teams in the league. Whoever wins this one will be sending a strong message to the rest of the league that they should be feared.
