Alpine Esports becomes Alpine Sim Racing, Partners with G2

Alpine, one of the well-known automotive brands in Europe that has been actively involved in the sim racing industry, has recently rebranded its sim racing team from Alpine Esports to Alpine Sim Racing.

Apart from the rebrand, Alpine Sim Racing has also announced that it has partnered with G2 Esports, one of Europe’s premier Esports companies. The partnership comes after the recently concluded F1 2023/24 Sim Racing World Championship, where G2 will support Alpine’s restructuring efforts that includes its engineering team and development program.

Partnership Aimed at Excellence and Cultivating an Industry

The Alpine Sim Racing has been a prominent figure in the F1 sim racing scene, and the partnership with G2 Esports is a sign that the team is looking to expand to other sim racing titles outside of the official Formula One series.

G2 Esports has been a fixture in the Esports industry, spanning various genres ranging from team-based first-person shooters like Counter-Strike 2 and Rainbow Six Siege, and Valorant, MOBAs like League of Legends and Dota 2, as well as Rocket League and sim racing.

Their experience in various Esports titles, especially creating formidable teams and developing talent will prove to be essential, as the Alpine-G2 Esports partnership will also integrate Alpine’s Race(H)er initiative into its sim racing program. The Alpine Race(H)er program aims to identify and develop young female talent.

Championship Aspirations

When asked about the partnership, Daniel Ritchie, Alpine’s global director of sponsorship acquisition noted that they want to further develop their team to win championships as well as to cultivate the sim racing ecosystem by organizing more events like the Alpine Esports Series,

“It’s a very exciting time for the newly-branded Alpine Sim Racing Team. This new collaboration with G2 symbolizes a new era and new hope, where an aligned focus will produce constant progression and a change in priorities. Our aim is to take Alpine Sim Racing into championship contention in the coming years.”

What Are the Current Sim Racing Esports Games?

Aside from the recently concluded 2023/24 Formula One sim racing, the sim racing esports has a number of popular titles that include IRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, the Gran Turismo series, EA Sports WRC, and Automobilista 2.

Each title provides unique and authentic racing experiences, from racing F1 cars to other automobiles designed for racing through dirt roads. Players and car enthusiasts who play such titles are quick to point out that the games’ physics are top-notch, with every minute tweak in a car’s tuning will immediately be felt during test drives.
