The FIFAe Club Series has been told that it needs to step up its game for the new season in 2021. Of course, the world of esports has seen significant growth particularly over the last year, and EA Sports is being advised to try to capitalize on this popularity. The result is a real push for the new season with a focus on FIFA 21, and it promises to be an absolute spellbinding season if all of their plans can come to fruition.
The Structure
What is immediately clear is that EA Sports, and FIFA itself, will be looking at creating a clearer structure that allows competitors to follow a set pathway leading to the FIFAe World Cup. To achieve this, competitors are going to be allowed to then represent their club. After this, they will then be able to compete in games against other club players to eventually enter the FIFAe Club Series.
But that’s not all.
Instead, there will also be competitions on a country basis. Once again, this will involve local competitions to then qualify as the player representing a country which then leads to them playing in the FIFAe Nations Series. Competitors can also take part in the FIFA Global Series which ultimately results in the FIFAe World Cup.
In other words, there are ample opportunities out there for the leading FIFA players to play at either club or country level and to then go ahead and do so on a global scale.
Prize Funds
All of this is due to kick off in November 2020. Also, we are looking at some impressive prize pots being included in these series. EA Sports and FIFA have stated that up to $3 million in funds will be available across the Global Series. That’s going to cover local qualifiers, regional competitions, the eChampions League, and the eLibertadores.
But, once again, that’s not all.
The FIFAe Club Series is going to have $350,000 on the line, but then the FIFAe Nations Series and FIFAe World Cup have $500k on offer, so we’re talking about a lot of money across the board. That alone is likely to draw in the top players who would also love to be able to play for their club or country and the pride that comes with that.
Of course, when it comes to any form of esports, it’s fun to get involved in the betting side. As of yet, we don’t know the entrants, so understanding where the best players are coming from, and who to look out for, is currently up in the air.
