Plenty of League of Legends Action Coming

It has already been an extremely busy year in the world of esports, but the action is really only getting started. Rainbow Six Siege was just in the news for a massive tournament that was held, but now the attention is going to shift to League of Legends.

There are some big events that will be taking place in 2024, and several schedules were just recently announced. Some of the best League of Legends players in the world will be ready to compete, and the action should be tremendous in each event.

A Look at the LEC 2024 Spring

Every team is trying to gear up for the biggest League of Legends tournament set to take place later this year, but it’s not easy to qualify for that event. There are a number of ways to get that done, including winning the LEC 2024 Spring event.

This is the second split of the season as the Winter Split was the first option that drew a number of teams. There will be 10 teams that compete in this event, and the top eight are going to qualify for the Spring Finals.

Winning the Spring Playoffs will guarantee that team a spot in the LEC Season Finals, and there is some big money to be won in that event. Riot Games is hoping for some massive crowds at the Spring Split, and tickets have already been on sale.

The first action in this event will take place on March 9th, and the winner won’t be crowned until April 14th. This is expected to be a highly competitive event, especially as the final eight teams compete for the title.

Current Standings

All of the champions of the three splits will be awarded a spot in the finals, but the rest of those spots will be based on the standings. It’s important for the top teams to rack up points during these events, and there is already a significant gap in the standings.

G2 Esports is currently sitting on top of the LEC standings with 120 points, and they will be looking for another big run in this event. MAD Lions KOI was a team that not many knew about ahead of the first Winter Split, but they are currently in second place with 100 points.

The two teams that will be needing to at least make it onto the bracket this weekend are Rogue and Karmine Corp. Those two teams have yet to score a point this season, and they will simply run out of time with an early exit in the spring.

First place in the Spring Split comes with 145 points to the winning team, and that’s what everyone will be pushing for. Even getting into eight place will come with 35 points, and that can be valuable for some of the bottom teams.

Even though this event is going to last more than a month, it will be worth following along with the action throughout the streams.

Some Big Matchups Early

Since some great teams are going to be competing at the Spring Split, fans won’t have to wait long to see some of the top teams battling it out. Day 2 will be the biggest matchup in round robin play as G2 Esports will be facing off against the Mad Lions.

This schedule is only set for the matchups through March 25th as the bracket play will begin after that time. Those teams will be seeded based on how they perform in round robin action, and these games are going to be significant.
