Results from Valorant First Strike North American NSG Day 2 Action

After day two action in the Valorant First Strike qualifiers, eight teams have advanced to the next round that promises to be a cracking quarter-final bout. After the first qualifier, thirty-two teams came into this day two showdown to show just how good they are and challenge for the ultimate prize. Teams put forward their best lineup to stand a better chance at reaching the finals. However, only eight teams have made it to the next stage and are closer to going home with the prize money.

Teams like Gen G Esports, Sentinels, and 100 Thieves breezed through the round of 16 as their opponents had no answer. It was a sweep for the aforementioned teams as they beat their opponents 2-0. Even as it seemed like 100 Thieves were shaky in attacking as they relied more on aim than anything else, it was still enough to get them through to the quarter-final round without any hassle.

Team Envy’s journey was quite the opposite of what these other teams experienced as they had to fight tooth and nail to get through. Envy was on the back foot, but was able to turn the game around with the final scoreline standing at 13-4 in favor of Envy.

The eight teams that made it through to the quarter-final are;

  • 100 Thieves
  • Team SoloMid (TSM)
  • The Slimy Boogermen
  • Coud9 Blue
  • Sentinels
  • Gen G Esports
  • Envy
  • T1

These teams have already been paired for the quarter-final battle. The Sentinels have been matched up to face Gen G Esports. TSM will face 100 Thieves, Envy and T1 will battle it out, and Cloud9 Blue will go head-to-head with The Slimy Boogermen.

These fixtures are all exciting, as every team that has made it this far have been strong competitors. However, fans will have their eyes on the TSM vs. 100 Thieves and Envy vs. T1 fixtures. Both fixtures promise to keep fans at the edge of their seats as both teams are incredibly competitive.

100 Thieves have gone on to decimate teams like Dignitas, Moon Racoons, and HotThots. Anyone conversant with these teams will know that this is no small feat. TSM, on the other hand, has also pulled off some unexpected wins against opponents like Renegades and Noble. This matchup promises to be a classic encounter.

As with every tournament, there is one underdog that proves to be a thorn in everyone’s flesh. In this case, the position of the underdog is taken by The Slimy Boogermen. They have shown immense promise and stolen some wins, but their opponents in this round – Cloud9 Blue – might not be willing to give any more leeway. So far, Cloud9 has maintained a perfect record, and a team member in the person of Ten Z will also be looking to add to his tally in a bid to win the highest solo award in the tournament. He has an average of 280 combat scores and a K/D Ratio of 1.39.

We all hope to see an even more exhilarating performance from these teams in the quarter-final. The pressure is building, and this time, it might require a bit more than skill to go through.
