YouTube Hosts Warzone Creator Charity Tournament

The YouTube Warzone Creator Tournament features a $100,000 prize pool which will be donated to the Call of Duty Endowment in honour of Military Appreciation Month

YouTube are set to host their first Warzone tournament in aid of Military Appreciation Month. 10 of your favourite YouTube creators will pick their partner or a Call of Duty professional will partner with them as they compete in this tournament. GoldenBoy and Puckett will be casting the tournament, two prominent Call of Duty and gaming casters. YouTube announced this with a trailer and said:

On Friday, May 29, YouTube Gaming will host the “YouTube Gaming Creator Tournament — Call of Duty®: Warzone”  featuring an all-star gaming creator lineup who will battle it out in Call Of Duty: Warzone to be the last one standing during this half-day event. This tournament is in partnership with Call of Duty Endowment (CODE) in honor of Military Appreciation Month. The tournament begins at 11:00 a.m. PT on Friday, May 29, and will be livestreamed on the official Call of Duty YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/callofduty).”

Format

The tournament will operate in an MFAM Gauntlet meets Warzone Wednesday style. The first round will see all 10 teams play up to 10 games within a three hour period. At the end of the three hours, teams will add up their best three games, and the top 2 teams with the most points will advance to round two. The second round will see these two teams compete in two Warzone games, with the team with the most overall points coming out victorious.

Team Captains

The YouTube Creator Warzone Tournament will kick off at 2PM EST  (7PM BST) and last around 4/5 hours. Each team captain will be streaming their own POV on their YouTube Channel. While a main broadcast on the Call of Duty channel will oversee the action with casters. As none of these players competed in TeeP’s Trials yesterday, they should be fresh and ready for the competition. Remember, it’s all fun and games for charity, but there will still be friendly competition and with talent like this, it is certainly going to be a good watch.
