Make sure you stop by and check it out, it’ll only be accessible from September 18th, 1 p.m. EDT to September 20th, 1 p.m. EDT.

In order to be ready as soon as it launches, it was made available for pre-load on September 17th at 11 a.m. EDT.

Cold War is the first Black Ops title since 2018, so don’t miss out on your first chance to tune in prior to it’s official release on November 13th, 2020. Don’t be too sad though Xbox and PC owners, your opportunity to check it out will be next month from October 15th-19th, when the beta releases.

The alpha will be made up of three game modes and three maps, each being 6v6. The modes consist of; Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed. Default classes will be available as players won’t be able to delve too deep into gameplay and customization just yet.

One of the highly anticipated maps from the initial release trailer, “Miami”, will be making its debut during the alpha for all of those that have been waiting. Amongst the other two maps are “Moscow” and “Satellite”, a map located in the Angolan desert.

A new 12v12 game mode titled “Combined Arms: Domination” will be unveiled during the alpha as well. This is an objective game mode similar to 6v6 domination but it incorporates more vehicles and larger maps. The map “Armada” will be playable in this mode, taking place in the open ocean, it involves several ships that you can navigate across as well as smaller ones that are operable. If you happened to see any of the recently released online multiplayer footage, chances are you saw what this map looks like as it was one of the most prominently featured maps. The other map featured in Combined Arms is titled “Crossroads.” This one takes place on land, in the frozen environment of the Soviet Union.

Activision also released exclusive footage of what looks to be another one of their highly anticipated, action-packed campaign experiences. It previews a mission taking place in Turkey involving a high profile target’s handling gone wrong.
