CD Projekt and CDProjekt RED Confirm the Release of Cyberpunk 2077 on December 10

The developers of the Cyberpunk 2077 have been continuously at the center of dispute since the beginning of the year. The release date of the game has been delayed four times in 2020 following the developers need to change several things on the game.

The fans have not been happy about the delays until recently when CD Projekt RED confirmed the release date as December 10 2020. The developers have reassured the Cyberpunk 2077 fans that they project to stick to the plan of releasing the game in December.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Twitter Account Changes the Image to Include the Release Date

Cyberpunk game has an official Twitter account with 1.1 million followers. Since, 2012, the account has been used to report upcoming news or any changes. Recently, the account updated a new cover image displaying a marooned dyed hair of a girl holding a gun on a yellow background.

On the image also include the release date December 10. The date seems as an assurance to the fans that the developers of the game are sticking to release Cyberpunk 2077 game as promised. However, the developers have given such promises in the past only to fail to fulfil. Hence, Cyberpunk games fans are not overly excited as it could turn as merely a promise with nothing to show.

What Was Delaying The Release?

The Cyberpunk 2077 has been ready since the beginning of 2020. However, the game was only available on PC. Thus, developers needed more time to ensure the game was compatible with other platforms as well.

According to a statement provided by the developers, the Cyberpunk 2077 has been ready, but they needed to make sure the game was accessible to a bigger audience. The developers were ensuring the game is accessible through PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. players can thus expect to find the Cyberpunk 2077 on various platforms they prefer.

It Has Been Tough for the CY 2077 Developers

Every time CY 2077 developers announced a delay, they were faced with massive backlash from fans. In fact, they literally had to bear with angry, ugly remarks from various fans. Things even crossed the line when several fans sent death threats to the CY 2077 developers.

The developers, however, did not let things slide and instead took necessary action against those who sent threats. One of the developers even showed a part of the death threat comment that he had received, which was tough to read.

That’s not the only storm CY 2077developers has had to deal with. In another scenario, CD Projekt RED was under fire when reports about mandatory crisis about their game surfaced. The developers defended the idea before the launch of the game, but everything backfired when they postponement the release of the game. After, several fans suggested that they didn’t want the game released if it meant the developers had to work overtime.

As if that’s not enough, Geoff Keighley, the Game Awards host, recently announced that CP 2077 was no longer eligible for 2020’s Game of the Year (GOTY) award. For a game that was eligible for the award when it was announced, it’s such a loss for it to be removed from the list. Nonetheless, we hope that the developers will stick to their word this time and release the game in December.
