Cloud9 marks Rainbow Six Siege return with mantis FPS roster

Popular North American organisation Cloud9 has made its return to Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege by acquiring the previously-unsupported Korean roster of mantis FPS.

Cloud9 exited the budding scene at the top of the year, with Team Reciprocity picking up the roster (minus Lauren “Goddess” Williams, who joined Elephant Gang).

The roster that will represent Cloud9 moving forward will be Inyup “Neilyo” Lee, Yugeun “h3dy” Kwon, Sung-su “EnvyTaylor” Kim, Chan-yong “SweetBlack” Han, and Si Hun “Nova” Lee. Inyeong “SummerRain” Kim will act as the team’s head coach, with Hyun “OniChan” Park backing him up as assistant coach.

With this signing, Cloud9 has entered the Korean region just days ahead of the Season 9 Asia-Pacific Finals. After finishing in first place in the three-team competition with a flawless 4-0-0 record, mantis FPS qualified for the finals alongside second-place Ageless. The APAC Finals sees eight teams – two from each region – face off against each other.

The undeniably-talented roster of mantis FPS is used to having organisational support during its domestic dominance in the past, having previously represented both Team Yetti and Element Mystic – two South Korean organisations. The team has displayed nothing but excellence in its respective region, winning a whole host of monthly Korea Cup events, Six Invitational APAC qualifiers, and Pro League seasons.

Cloud9’s Rainbow Six Siege team is now the fourth Korean roster it currently houses, sitting alongside Fortnite, Hearthstone, and Overwatch (through its Overwatch League franchise, London Spitfire). All eyes ahead to the APAC Finals where they will be looking to get off to a hot start under this prestigious brand!
