Midnite to host open Warzone Melee with £2,000 prizepool

Midnite, in partnership with EEG (“European Esports Gaming”), have announced today that they’ll be launching a Call of Duty: Warzone tournament entitled Warzone Melee, boasting a prizepool of £2,000. Qualifiers for the tournament will run from the 22nd June 2020, with the finals taking place on the 25th June at 6PM BST.

Over the past months there have been no shortage of Warzone tournaments comprised of streamers and influencers, but Warzone Melee has a subtle difference..

Signups are open to the public! We could expect to see players competing from all different backgrounds; streamers, bettors, professional players and casual chancers all thrown into the mix. There will be two qualifying rounds, each pitting 64 duos against each other with the top 6 teams from each qualifier competing against each other for cash prizes.

The final 12 duos competing will be streamed live, and we’ve got our fingers crossed that Midnite will offer betting markets for the competing teams to add to the excitement. The total prize pool for the tournament is £2,000 will split across the top 3 ranking teams in the finals as follows:

🥇 1st place – £1400 Cash
🥈 2nd place – £400 Cash
🥉 3rd place – £200 Cash

Speaking with Kai from the Midnite team about what brought the tournament to life, he explained:

With Warzone Wednesdays recently closing until further notice, we were determined to give the Call of Duty community something in its place. Many of our community are avid Call of Duty and Warzone fans, so it’s great to be able to nurture that.

We’re hoping that this is the first in a series of Warzone Melee tournaments hosted by Midnite, and we’ll be reporting on any subsequent events that pop up. If you do secure a spot in the qualifiers be sure to comment with your player name’s so that we can cheer you on!

How can I enter?

Registering your duo for the tournament is a relatively simple process. Simply follow the steps below and you’ll be on your way to compete for £2,000.

All participants require a fully verified Midnite Account (UK based and 18+!) and have an account on EEG! When creating a Midnite account if you don’t have one already, let them know we sent you!
