The CS:GO Blast Premier: Global Final 2020 just kicked-off, with eight teams fighting for a chance to win over $500,000 from the $1,000,000 prize pool. The eight teams competing in the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals will play with a double-elimination bracket format, with all matches being best of three. As a result of the global pandemic, the tournament will happen online.
The first two games will be played today, January 19, where the winners will progress to the Upper Bracket Semifinals. However, our focus is on the first game that will be played on Wednesday, January 20. The tournament will come to an end on January 24, where an Upper Bracket champion will be selected to face-off with the Lower Bracket champion in the Grand Final.
Team Vitality will face off with Complexity in the first match of the second day of the tournament. It is a “win or go home” affair so both teams will come out guns blazing, as the reward is worth putting your all for. Both teams are on the bottom part of the bracket but are no indication of their form. Team Vitality was phenomenal for the better part of 2020. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Complexity. It is not going to be a close match as Team Vitality looks like the team that will snatch the win comfortably.

Team Vitality Have The Advantage Statistically
Both teams have not played a game since the start of the new year. They actively played in the IEM Global Challenge 2020, which was the final event for both teams. However, head-to-head fixtures between both teams have more often than not favored Team Vitality. They are the second-favorite to win the title and the only team that fields a six-man roster. The use of six players has suited them well as they’ve had amazing results with this roster. Although we cannot comment on their form as of 2021, the French squad looks like the stronger team to take home the victory.
Valentin “poizon” Vasilev’s Departure Will Hurt Complexity
Complexity lost their star AWPer, Valentin, due to medical issues. He has been replaced by Jakob “JUGi” Hansen, but it is unlikely that he will have as much impact as Valentin. The odds are stacked against Complexity but we cannot put a win past them. It is the start of a new year and both teams have not actively competed in a short while. However, it will take a lot for this Complexity team to overcome Team Vitality. Also, Team Vitality has to have one of their irregular bad days.

Team Vitality looks like the stronger team. They have everything going for them and will likely secure a victory in this fixture. Not much is expected from Complexity and they may prove us right. However, the prize pool is motivation enough for anyone to give it their best shot.
