LEC Spring Split 2020 Playoffs – Fnatic vs Origen
LEC Spring Split 2020
With the LEC Spring Split 2020 coming to a close, we have the Playoffs to determine our Spring Split champions in a double elimination series between the top six teams. As a Fnatic fan I’m excited to see them reach the playoffs and have a relatively easy game ahead of them against Origen.
Fnatic haven’t been as strong since losing Caps to G2 Esports, but over the season have found their feet again with just a couple of rocky patches. They have a habit of throwing games when under pressure and having a reverse snowball effect, but with some effective play around mid and jungle we shouldn’t face any problems. The former Origen roster was definitely to be feared, with Insec and Froggen both on the Rift, but with recent roster changes they’re a shadow of their former selves.
During the 9 weeks of Spring Split we saw Fnatic and Origen both finish at 13-5, both winning a game against the other and both going 0-2 against G2 (which in fairness, most teams did). These 9 weeks have given the Fnatic team time to work on their synergies across the Rift whilst still maintaining their bloodthirst and aggressive nature.
My betslip for this match is inspired by their aggresive playstyle, with a high expectation of Fnatic playing for first bloods in early ganks from Selfmade. In the back of my mind I see Origen taking the 3rd map against a complacent Fnatic, but closing out the game 3-1. If you’re wanting to play safer then I’d still recommend Match Winner and First Blood markets, but potentially swapping the Total Maps to an Over 3.5.
